How to remove an ink spot from a leather jacket?

You smeared ink on your expensive or new leather jacket while you were studying? Here’s how you can remove the mark.

No matter how hard you try, if you are working with pen and paper, chances are you will end up with ink on your hands and clothes. Even if that is not the case you can be unfortunate enough to spill a bottle of ink and end up with the same unwanted results.

While most of the clothes just require a wash to get the ink out, leather isn’t like that. So if you got a stain on one of your favorite leather jackets then you will have to follow the following steps to get that that stain out:

  • The first thing that you need to check is whether the leather used to make your Captain America Winter Soldier Jacket is finished or unfinished. You probably know that already. But if you don’t, here’s a simple test: put a drop of water on the surface of your jacket. If it is absorbed instantly then your jacket is made up of unfinished leather. Otherwise, it is made up of finished leather.
  • If your jacket is made up of unfinished leather then you can’t remove the ink mark without professional help. In fact, there is not much you can actually do; you should just take your jacket to your trusted dry cleaners and let them do their magic.
  • The first thing you can try is by wiping the stain with a cloth dipped in soap water. Just make sure that the liquid soap you use isn’t ordinary soap and is specifically designed to be used on leather.
  • Alcohol based liquids like perfume and rubbing alcohol can be used to remove the stain. They are not always guaranteed to work, but they do work in most cases. All you have to do is to dab a small piece of cloth with a small quantity of perfume or rubbing alcohol and apply it to the stain.
  • Nail polish removers can also be used to remove an ink stain. But only the non-acetone based nail polish removers can do the job. Make sure you read the label before applying the remover to your jacket.

And by now the ink stain should be gone and your jacket should be as good as new From
